Feedback, Questions and Answers

As you may have noticed, we released the Beta version of Moneyoga.com last week. The response so far has been quite heartening – over 50 people sent us their feedback on the content, layout, suggested feature additions and such. Firstly, we would like to thank you all for some great feedback. Below, we respond to the most common questions/comments:

Will there be an auto-complete feature for Search?
Yes, we are working on it.

What are the data sources for Moneyoga’s stock, index, future & option charts / tables?
NSE and SEBI.

Who is Moneyoga’s target audience?
We are targeting investors & traders who are familiar with the Indian markets, with futures & options, online brokerages, and such. Those new to investing may wish to use online tutorials (offered by several sites such as NSE, BSE, Rediff, etc.) and then visit Moneyoga for advanced analytics & trading strategies.

Will Moneyoga become a charting site?

No. The charts at Moneyoga will remain fairly simple, perhaps with the addition of a few more time-frames. But if you are looking for custom date ranges, zooming in & out, tons of technical indicators and such, please visit Yahoo Finance, icharts.in or some of the resources listed here.

Why is August 2007 the last date on some charts?
That should now be fixed. If not, do bear with us for a few more days.

Will there be a tutorial for reading the charts?
Yes, we will have one out soon.

Will Moneyoga provide real-time quotes?
No. We would like to do so, but the primary data sources that we have researched are either too unreliable or too expensive for us to use at this point.

Why are some of the pages slow?
We cache most of our pages on a daily basis. If you are the first person to load them on any given day, you might have to wait a bit. Else, the speed should be reasonably good. Having said that, we are working on optimizing our code to speed things up further.

Will Moneyoga provide recommendations, tips and such.
No. Please do read our FAQ (http://moneyoga.com/faq.aspx).

Will Moneyoga provide portfolio tracking tools?
Sorry, we did consider this but decided to pass. We would like to invest our limited resources in developing and sharing investment & trading strategies with our users. That leaves little time for user profiles, portfolio trackers, and such.

“Your home-page has too much white-space”.
Thanks! ?

Will Moneyoga feature market-level analytics such as FII/MF activity, new highs/lows, above/below moving averages, etc.?
Yes. We are working on it – look for something by mid-November.

Once again, thanks for all the feedback & keep it coming. We realize that we may not be able to satisfy all requests, but we shall try our best.

In terms of where we are headed, we intend to develop:
1. Analytics / screeners
2. Back-tested trading strategies
3. Virtual investment fund

The idea is to have all of this up before year-end, but with just the two of us doing all the programming - as well as trading – we ask for a bit of patience.
