Feedback, Questions & Answers - Part 2

November 15th, 2007 by kaushikgala · 1 Comment · Tag(s): ,

Thanks once again for continuing to give us feedback. Do check out Moneyoga.com for bug fixes, feature additions and such - several of which resulted out of your valuable comments.

Below, we respond to the most common questions/comments; please also do read our FAQ.

Can you add peer comparison for each stock? I want to compare a stock’s P/E with that of others in the same sector?
This is a tough one. There is no standard sector classification for Indian stocks - this makes things problematic since we have to come up with our own (highly subjective) categories. As of now, we would prefer not to spend time on this.

However, we will consider adding a feature that allows you to compare any two or more stocks.

The feedback form wipes out my comments if I click out of it & click back in. I had to re-type everything!
Sorry. It’s been fixed.

Some of the pages are slow - eg. MasterList & Index Pages.
We have added compression & optimized the database access - the pages should load much faster now.

How about adding list of stocks (new highs/lows, breakouts, etc.) on the home page?
This was our next major goal with the website. We have added 5 stock screens (gainers/losers, highs/lows, MA crossovers, volume breakouts and sales/EPS growth leaders). We have also added a page called Market Metrics which is a one-stop shop for market-wide statistics.

Will there be an auto-complete feature for Search?
Yes, we are still working on it.

Your site should support discussion forums on each of the stocks.
We did consider this, but have opted to stay out of the message-board mess. We think the value-add to users will not be worth the effort spent in coding, maintaining & moderating everyone’s comments. You are more than welcome to start discussions on the Moneyoga blog.

Please provide analysis of IPOs, when to buy/sell a stock based on charts, . . .
We would like to stay away from discretionary comments as far as possible, and continue to build Moneyoga into a data & system-driven investment site. However, we will share our thoughts on the analytics & trading strategies once they are released.
