Feedback, Questions & Answers - Part 4

February 22nd, 2008 by kaushikgala · No Comments · Tag(s): ,

It has been two months since we last responded to the plentiful - and very helpful - feedback that we continue to receive from Moneyoga users. Do check out Moneyoga.com for a bunch of new features, as well as an updated FAQ. As for your latest suggestions, here goes:

Can you add mid-month and far-month F&O data/pages/charts?

At this point, we would rather not, because most of these F&O contracts are not traded at all, and the few that are have horrendously low volumes. Drawing any useful (tradable) conclusion is nearly impossible.

Can you explain how to read charts? Can you provide commentary?

We have created help pages to explain the chart formats and such. But going forward, we also intend to significantly increase the pace of commentary - to complement the analytics & charts at Moneyoga.

Can you add custom stock search/screener - using price, volume, EBITDA, ROCE, etc.?

Yes, we do like the idea of this level of custom screening. We may not be able to introduce such functionality soon, but a quicker fix might be to increase the variety of our end-of-day screens to accommodate the most popular user requests.

Please provide sector/industry classification.

We now have sector classification for F&O-able stocks at the NSE. Over time, we will cover the non-F&O stocks as well. At this time, we don’t intend to have a second level (industry) classification within sectors. What might be more useful is to create our proprietary sector indices, and cross-sector analytics. Any suggestions?

Is your data reliable?

In terms of accuracy & timeliness, the biggest challenge continues to be fundamental data, such as sales, earnings, etc. We are in the midst of making a decision on this - it is possible that we’ll redirect users to other sources for this data, rather than compile it ourselves.

Please add the ‘announcement date’ for the bonus & split candidates.

Great suggestion. We’ll look into that right away.

Clicking on the feedback, search, etc. text-boxes should clear text and set focus - for better usability.

Agreed. We’ll figure out how to fix that asap.

Can you add RSS feeds?

Except for the blog itself, this is a tough one. But what we are working on is the ability for you to get the results of our end-of-day screens via email. This will allow you to simply scan one email every evening for trading/investment opportunities, instead of having to check multiple pages on our site. Of course, for detailed analysis on any stock, you’ll still need to visit moneyoga.com!

And lastly, thanks for all the ‘great work’, ‘awesome site’, ‘good job’ comments. Those definitely pump up the Moneyoga Mojo!
