New Features: Sectors, Watch List, Bonus & Split Candidates

In continuation of our recent series of blog posts, this one will elaborate on three new feature additions at Moneyoga:

  1. Sectors
  2. Given the large number of users who have asked for this, we are glad to announce that all F&O-able stocks are now classified by Sector as well. We will expand this to all 1000+ NSE stocks over time. To see the list of sectors, please use the Master List page; a screenshot of which is shown below:

Of course, each (F&O-able) Stock page also shows the Sector to which the stock belongs to. And each Sector page shows all the stocks that belong to that sector; including rankings of the sector constituents by performance & EPS growth, as well as a Relative Strength chart.

  3. Watch List
  4. At Moneyoga, we run several end-of-day stock screens (eg. 52-week highs, Moving average crossovers, Volume breakouts, etc.) - you can find a summary of our screens here. The daily Moneyoga watch list - featured on the home page - is simply a collection of stocks that show up across several of our end-of-day screens; and hence are worth watching for short-term trading opportunities. Here is a sample EOD watch list:

  5. Bonus & Split Candidates
  6. This is the outcome of an investment strategy that we investigated using historical data, discussed in an earlier blog post: “Buying Bonus & Split Candidates: A Profitable Investment Strategy?”. We showed that buying large-cap stocks as soon as a bonus or split is announced has historically been a profitable, index-beating long-term investment strategy.
Accordingly, on our home page, we now show a list of stocks that have recently announced a stock bonus or split, like so:
